Advertising Rules
The following rules, together with the general competition terms and conditions which can be found at www.trendingtravel.co.uk, apply to:
“WIN an incredible five-night stay for two at The Standard, Maldives! 😍”
(the “Competition”), which will run from 13:00 on 17 September 2026 until 00:00 on 1 October 2026 (the “Entry Period”).
The Competition is promoted and administered by Trending Travel Ltd (the “Promoter”).
Anyone who enters the Competition (an “Entrant”) will be deemed to have read and accepted these Specific Rules and the Competition Terms and Conditions and will be bound by them.
The Prize
This giveaway is a prize draw which offers Entrants the opportunity to win:
- A five-night stay for two people at The Standard, Maldives
- Accommodation in a Water Villa with a private pool
- Premium All-Inclusive board basis
- Return flights for two people
- Return seaplane transfers
The Prize is for two people sharing one Water Villa.
The Prize may be taken during either of the following travel periods:
15 April 2027 to 15 October 2027
or
15 April 2028 to 15 October 2028
Travel is subject to availability and the blackout periods detailed within these Terms and Conditions.
Conditions of Entry
To participate in this promotion, Entrants must satisfy the following conditions:
1.1. Entrants must be aged 18 or over at the time of entry.
1.2. Entrants must have a valid Instagram account.
1.3. Entrants must not be an employee, immediate family member or agent of Trending Travel Ltd, Capital Holidays, The Standard, Maldives, or any other company or individual directly associated with the administration or fulfilment of the Competition.
1.4. Entrants must agree to and comply with these Terms and Conditions. Entrants who do not comply with these Terms and Conditions will not be eligible to participate and may be disqualified.
1.5. Multiple entries are permitted in accordance with the entry mechanic described below.
1.6. Entrants must be resident in the United Kingdom.
How to Enter
To enter the Prize Draw, Entrants must complete all of the following during the Entry Period:
- Like the Competition post
- Tag a friend in the comments
- Follow @thestandardmaldives on Instagram
- Follow @capitalholidays.uk on Instagram
Each qualifying comment which tags at least one friend will count as one entry into the Prize Draw.
Entrants may comment more than once and each separate qualifying comment will count as an additional entry.
Entrants can also receive one bonus entry by sharing the Competition post to their Instagram Story during the Entry Period.
Sharing the post to an Instagram Story more than once will not generate more than one bonus entry.
Entrants must continue to satisfy the mandatory entry requirements at the time the Competition closes and when the winner is selected.
The Promoter reserves the right to verify that an Entrant has completed the relevant entry requirements before awarding the Prize.
Entry Period
The Prize Draw opens at:
13:00 on 17 September 2026
and closes at:
00:00 on 1 October 2026.
Entries received after the Competition has closed will not be accepted.
Winner Selection
There will be one winner.
The winner will be randomly selected from all eligible entries received during the Entry Period.
Each valid qualifying comment will be treated as a separate entry into the random Prize Draw.
Where an Entrant has completed the qualifying Instagram Story share, their eligible bonus entry will also be included in the Prize Draw.
The Promoter reserves the right to remove duplicate, fraudulent, automated or otherwise invalid entries before the winner is selected.
Winner Notification
The winner will be contacted by Instagram direct message within three days of the Competition closing.
The winner may be required to confirm their:
- Instagram handle
- Full name
- Age
- Postal address
- Email address
- Telephone number
- Proof of identity where reasonably required
The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify a potential winner who is unable to provide the information reasonably required to verify their identity or eligibility.
The Prize must be claimed within seven days of the date of notification.
If the winner does not claim the Prize within this period, cannot be contacted, does not satisfy the eligibility criteria or is otherwise unable to accept the Prize, the Promoter reserves the right to select an alternative winner at random from the remaining eligible entries.
If the winner chooses not to accept the Prize, or any part of the Prize, no cash payment or alternative compensation will be provided.
Announcement of Winner
The surname and county or country of residence of the winner may be made available upon request for up to two months after the Competition closing date where required by applicable regulations.
Disqualification
The Promoter reserves the right to refuse to award the Prize or disqualify an Entrant where there are reasonable grounds to believe that:
- These Terms and Conditions have been breached
- Fraudulent or automated entries have been submitted
- An Entrant has attempted to manipulate the Competition
- False or misleading information has been provided
- An Entrant has gained an unfair advantage
- An entry is incomplete or does not satisfy the stated entry requirements
Late or incomplete entries will not be entered into the Prize Draw.
Changes to the Promotion
The Promoter reserves the right to cancel, suspend or amend the Competition where circumstances outside its reasonable control affect, or could affect, the proper operation of the Competition.
Where reasonably possible, the Promoter will endeavour to minimise the impact of any such changes on Entrants.
Information About You
By entering the Competition, Entrants acknowledge that the Promoter may collect and use personal information for the purpose of administering the Competition, verifying eligibility, contacting the winner and arranging fulfilment of the Prize.
This information may include, where necessary:
- Instagram handle
- Full name
- Date of birth
- Postal address
- Email address
- Telephone number
Personal information will be processed in accordance with Trending Travel Ltd's applicable Privacy Policy.
Where necessary for fulfilment of the Prize, the winner's information may be shared with relevant Prize Providers, including Capital Holidays, The Standard, Maldives, airlines, transfer providers and other travel suppliers.
The winner's surname and county or country of residence may also be disclosed where required by law.
Social Media
This Prize Draw is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by or associated with Instagram or Meta.
By entering the Prize Draw, Entrants acknowledge that Instagram and Meta shall have no liability in connection with the administration of the Competition or fulfilment of the Prize.
Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Promoter excludes liability for any loss, damage or injury suffered by an Entrant or any third party arising from participation in the Competition or acceptance and use of the Prize.
Nothing in these Terms and Conditions shall exclude or limit liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability which cannot lawfully be excluded.
Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
Entrants submit to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

Prize Terms and Conditions
Prize Details
The winner is entitled to:
- Five nights' accommodation for two people at The Standard, Maldives
- Accommodation in a Water Villa with a private pool
- Premium All-Inclusive board basis
- Return flights for two people
- Return seaplane transfers
There is one Prize and one winner.
The Prize is for the winner and one accompanying guest.
Travel Window
The Prize may be redeemed during either of the following periods:
15 April 2027 – 15 October 2027
or
15 April 2028 – 15 October 2028
The entire five-night stay must take place within one of these permitted travel windows and must not overlap with an applicable blackout period.
Blackout Periods
The Prize cannot be redeemed during UK school holiday periods falling within the permitted travel windows in 2027 or 2028.
Blackout periods include, where applicable:
- Easter / spring school holidays
- May half-term / spring half-term
- UK summer school holidays
- Scottish September school holiday periods
- Autumn / October school holidays which fall on or before 15 October
- Any other official UK school holiday period falling within the permitted Prize travel dates
School holiday dates vary across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, as well as between local authorities and individual schools.
For the purposes of this Competition, applicable blackout dates will be determined by the Promoter and/or Prize Provider by reference to published UK school holiday dates.
The winner will therefore be required to provide preferred dates which fall outside the applicable school holiday blackout periods.
No part of the five-night stay may overlap an applicable blackout period.
Availability outside the blackout periods is not guaranteed.
Prize Availability
All elements of the Prize are subject to availability at the time of booking.
Hotel availability, Water Villa availability, flight availability and seaplane availability are all subject to the availability allocated to the Prize.
The existence of publicly available hotel rooms or flights on particular dates does not necessarily mean that those dates are available for redemption of the Prize.
The winner's preferred travel dates are therefore not guaranteed.
The winner may be asked to provide multiple preferred travel dates.
Flights
Return flights for two people are included as part of the Prize.
Flight dates, departure airport, airline, routing and timings are subject to availability and will be confirmed as part of the Prize booking.
The Prize is limited to the flights made available by the Prize Provider for the Competition.
If the winner elects to purchase alternative flights, upgrades or additional services which are not included within the Prize, these will be at the winner's own cost.
Seaplane Transfers
Return seaplane transfers for the winner and their guest are included.
Seaplane transfers are subject to the relevant operator's schedules, availability, operating conditions and applicable terms and conditions.
Transfer timings may be determined by the relevant supplier and may be dependent upon the winner's international flight schedule.
Premium All-Inclusive
The Prize includes a Premium All-Inclusive stay for two people.
The exact inclusions will be subject to The Standard, Maldives' applicable Premium All-Inclusive offering for the Prize booking.
Any food, beverages, restaurants, activities, treatments, excursions, services or experiences which fall outside the included Premium All-Inclusive package will be payable separately by the winner.
General Prize Conditions
The Prize is:
- Non-transferable
- Non-refundable
- Not exchangeable for cash
- Not exchangeable for credit
- Not available for resale
- Subject to availability
No cash alternative will be offered.
The Prize cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer, discount or promotion unless expressly agreed by the relevant Prize Provider.
Should an element of the Prize become unavailable for circumstances outside the Promoter's reasonable control, the Promoter reserves the right to provide an alternative of equal or greater value.
Additional Costs
Unless expressly stated as included within the Prize, all additional expenses will be the responsibility of the winner and their guest.
This includes, without limitation:
- Travel between the winner's home and the departure airport
- Airport parking
- Airport hotels
- Personal expenditure
- Optional excursions
- Spa treatments
- Food and beverages not included within the Premium All-Inclusive package
- Additional baggage or airline services not included within the Prize
- Seat upgrades
- Travel insurance
- Passport costs
- Visas or other travel documentation where applicable
- Vaccinations or other health requirements where applicable
- Tips and gratuities
- Additional nights
- Additional passengers
- Any other incidental expenses
Booking the Prize
The winner must cooperate with the Promoter and relevant Prize Providers in arranging the booking.
The winner may be asked to provide a selection of preferred travel dates.
All requested dates must fall:
- Within either 15 April – 15 October 2027 or 15 April – 15 October 2028
- Outside all applicable blackout periods
Once the booking has been confirmed, travel dates may not be changed unless expressly agreed by the Promoter and relevant Prize Providers.
Any amendment requested by the winner will be subject to availability and may incur additional charges.
The Prize duration cannot be extended unless expressly agreed.
The hotel and room type cannot be changed by the winner unless expressly agreed by the relevant Prize Provider.
Additional nights, additional rooms or additional travellers may be booked separately where permitted but will be charged at the applicable rate.
Travel Requirements
It is the responsibility of the winner and their guest to ensure that they:
- Hold valid passports
- Satisfy all entry requirements for the Maldives
- Obtain any required visas or travel authorisations
- Have suitable travel insurance
- Meet any applicable health or vaccination requirements
- Comply with airline and destination entry requirements
- Are legally permitted to travel
The winner and their guest are responsible for checking applicable travel guidance and entry requirements before departure.
Failure to satisfy travel or entry requirements will not entitle the winner to compensation, an alternative Prize or a cash payment.
Changes or Cancellations
Events may occur which render the Competition or fulfilment of the Prize impossible due to circumstances outside the reasonable control of the Promoter or Prize Providers.
In such circumstances, the Promoter reserves the right to amend, substitute or vary the Prize where reasonably necessary.
If a flight, hotel stay, transfer or other Prize component is cancelled or materially changed by a travel supplier, the Promoter will use reasonable endeavours to arrange a suitable alternative, subject to availability.
The Promoter will not be responsible for changes, cancellations or disruption caused by third-party suppliers or circumstances outside its reasonable control, except where liability cannot lawfully be excluded.
Winner Publicity
The winner may be invited to participate in reasonable publicity relating to the Competition.
Any additional use of the winner's image or personal information will be handled in accordance with applicable data protection requirements.
Data Protection
Entrants' personal information will be used for the administration of the Competition and Prize.
Where an Entrant is separately invited to opt in to receive marketing communications, marketing information will only be sent in accordance with the permissions provided by that Entrant.
Personal information will be handled in accordance with Trending Travel Ltd's applicable Privacy Policy.
Final Conditions
The Promoter reserves the right to verify the eligibility of any Entrant and to request reasonable evidence that these Terms and Conditions have been complied with.
The Promoter reserves the right to substitute the Prize with an alternative Prize of equal or greater value where circumstances outside its reasonable control make this necessary.
If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue to apply.
These Terms and Conditions are governed by English law and Entrants submit to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
Trending Travel Ltd is the Promoter and administrator of this Competition.
This keeps the winner-contact, disqualification, data, social-media, liability and prize-booking framework from the previous document, while replacing the Iceland-specific prize and entry requirements. The original also makes the prize subject to availability, non-transferable and without a cash alternative, which I have retained here.
